YouTube Masthead Cross Screen (Desktop Video + Mobile Video) Technical Requirements

When planning your YouTube Masthead campaign, you will have to submit the complete and final creative assets at least 3 days before the launch date, so the YouTube team can review and traffic immediately to avoid any delays on the launch.

Technical Information: YouTube Masthead – Desktop

Here you can find the detailed specs for the Desktop Masthead. The minimum required assets are the following:

  • Required: YouTube video URL  (please upload the video on your Official YouTube Channel and set to public or unlisted)
  • Required: Headline text (recommended 26 characters, check the character count using www.lettercount.com)
  • Optional: CTA text (recommended 10 characters) + Landing Page
  • Optional: Video Wall (Playlist must be set to public)
  • Optional: Subscribe button

Technical Information: YouTube Masthead – Mobile

Here you can find the detailed specs for the Mobile Masthead. The minimum required assets are the following:

  • Required: YouTube video URL  (please upload the video on your Official YouTube Channel and set to public or unlisted)
  • Required: Headline text (max. 26 characters recommended)
  • Optional: Description text (max. 60 characters recommended)
  • Optional: CTA (max. 10 characters recommended) + Landing Page

Technical Information: YouTube Masthead Tracking (optional, but recommended)

For the Desktop YouTube Masthead, we are able to implement one click tracker, one impression pixel and two remarketing pixel (click & impression) in total.

For the Mobile YouTube Masthead, we are able to implement one click tracker and one impression pixel in total.

Tracking will be accepted through approved third-party vendors only. End of campaign reports will be available within 48 business hours after campaign completion.
