We help brands tell their story
Branding 101 teaches that a brand is a name, symbol, design or phrase that differentiates your product from others. Every brand student dreams of creating a brand that will “Just do it”! (Be honest we’ve all had that fantasy). But what about Planet Digital? Do you apply what you’ve learned and hope it will translate into digital branding? Bong! Game’s over before it’s begun…wait there’s hope and you’ll find it by reading on.
A digital brand is not your logo, tagline, product or service. While all of these elements can be expressions of your brand they are not your digital brand. The fundamental difference between traditional branding and digital branding
is that digital branding is about a conversation. You project your brand and people talk, tweet, like or unlike, back! Your audience become part of your brand’s message in a way that was previously never possible.
Branding is about the promise of a distinct, memorable experience. It’s about creating an expectation and delivering it consistently every time anyone comes into contact with your brand. It’s how you make your customers feel about themselves and their decisions when they are interacting with you. We are attracted to brands that either we identify with or that we aspire towards. Digital Branding is about taking your brand’s identity and developing a strong, authentic digital brand and delivering it consistently across the different platforms. At Volt Lab we have the experience, the insight and the tools to both create and develop your digital brand presence.
The development of digital branding is essential to deliver the right message to the right people so that they want to be a part of your world. At Volt Lab we do this by:
- Defining who you are and what you want to be
- Defining the expectations of your target audience
- Determining what makes you special
- Differentiating you from the competition
Digital Branding: Scope of Services
The first step involves our team studying your business, your industry, your competition and your customers. We meet with your team, conduct research, and when appropriate interview existing and prospective clients. We peel
back the layers of your business to create a graph: How are you perceived and how would you like to be perceived. We are interested in the gap between the two points.
Now that we understand the variables we’ll develop a digital brand strategy unique to you. One size never has and never will fit all. (Unless you’re purchasing an unflattering over-sized T-Shirt). We’ll advise on a strategy to share your brand, communicate your message and how it can best be expressed throughout your online marketing channels.
Digital Brand Identity
Package Once we’ve developed your digital brand strategy and you’ve approved this direction, our designers will move into interpreting your online brand characteristics in a more visual way. A standard package includes:
- Screen (digital) Logo design
- Screen (digital) Colours and fonts

- Email Signatures & Email Signature Banners

Digital Brand Guidelines
We are getting closer to take-off. After you have signed off your approval, we’ll develop digital brand guidelines for you, a do’s and don’t handbook. How do you express your brand online in terms of where and how to use the logo,
colours and fonts. Remember digital users are savvy and can be unforgiving!
To complete the work outlined in the project scope, we’ll need approximately eight weeks from beginning to end, depending on when we receive feedback at each milestone. Upon signing the proposal we are prepared to start work
